A beautiful, elegant Burgundy with notes of smokey plums and red berries. In the mouth it is balanced with flavours of plum and wild berries, with hints of spice and leather. There is good acidity and firm tannins.
Gevrey-Chambertin, Côtes d,Or, Domaine Robert Gibourg, 2012 (13%) £79.50
This classic Burgundy is an absolute pleasure. Silky and soft on the palate and bright and fresh at the finish, it has generous notes of juicy red berries and a gamey, sanguine quality that one typically finds in fruit from the Côte d’Or.
Esprit de Lussac, Lussac St-Emilion, 2012 (13%)£29.75
Lussac is one of five villages to the north-east of St. Emilion with the right to add that name to their own. Lussac makes excellent ‘satellite’ wines, slightly more rustic than its big brother, but rounded and with great charm. This is a rich, full-bodied wine showing great concentration of flavour. With juicy black fruit on the nose and palate backed up by a smoky sandalwood character, this will make a great accompaniment to hearty meat dishes and strong cheeses.
Château Tour du Haut Moulin, Haut-Médoc, Cru Bourgeois, 2008 (12.5%)£34.75
Tour du Haut Moulin is situated in Cussac Dort, between Margaux and St-Julien, in the heart of Haut-Médoc. It has been owned by the Poitou family since 1870 and is now in the 6th generation of family ownership. It has 28 hectares of vines on Garonne gravels soils. Now showing a good degree of maturity with its deep garnet colour, mellow bramble fruit and gentle notes of cedar and dark spice. Ripe tannins and soft fruit flavour provide a harmonious mouthfeel: Carbernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, drinking well now.
Château L'Ecuyer, Pomerol 2009 (13.5%) (13 £99.50
Winemaker Emeric Petit produced his first vintage in 2004 and hasn't looked back since. It's a tiny estate of just 3 hectares, 1 of which lies at the summit of the famous Pomerol Plateau where it shares ground with illustrious Clos L'Eglise, Château Clinet! Dense, full and laden with character - just jaw-droppingly good. Very flashy indeed, beautifully delineated and substantially oaked (will integrate further over the next 15 years).
Château Caronne St-Gemme, Haut-Medoc, Cru Bourgeois 2011 (13%) £43.95
Aged for 12 months in French barrels, this is fulsome, ripe and well styled. Juicy black fruit and woody aromas linger onto the palate.
Ségla, Margaux, 2006/8 (13%)£79.50
Ségla is the second wine of the famous Margaux second growth Château Rauzan-Ségla. More accessible than the first wine, this is does not receive as much new oak, so tannins are riper and smoother making the Ségla ripe and ready for drinking.

A superb wine with rich aromas of dark fruit, earthy minerals and spice. Soft and round on the palate with smooth tannins, rich blackberry and cherry fruit, hints of liquorice and a substantial finish.
Vacqueyras, ”Les Hauts de la Ponche”, Sarade, 2014 (14.5%) £38.75
Ripe blackberries, cherries, spice and suggestions of dried herbs. Rich and full bodied, with flavours of ripe plums, black cherries and hints of spices and liquorice, and a long finish.
Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Le Puits Neuf 2014 (13.5%) £48.50
This wine has been aged in the famous cellars of Ogier Caves des Papes in the heart of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. A blend of Cinsault, Grenache, Mourvedre and Syrah, this wine is dark ruby coloured with a complex nose of spices and hints of pear. A smooth lingering finish. Enjoy with rich, rustic flavoured dishes, especially meat and game.

This is a soft and elegant blend of 60% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 15% Mourvedre and 5% Cinsault, typical of the southern Rhone. 20% of the wine is aged in oak barrels, giving a fleshy, well-structured wine, with aromas of cocoa, garrigue herbs and damsons
